that as a man accepts his party's nomination for president of the united states, to be our commander in chief, he didn't even mention the war we were fighting, which will be our longest war, not to mention he didn't mention anything about veterans and our sacred obligation to them. i find it stunning. i find his comments in the aftermath of that stunning. his response to bill crystal's criticism and fox news' criticism of him, it's remarkable. what i have been talking about, martin, is what an exceptional president and commander in chief president obama has been. he's done exactly what he said he was going to do by ending a war in iraq, setting us on a path to hand over authority in afghanistan by 2014. making sure that we refocused our efforts on going after al qaeda in afghanistan and pakistan, decimating al qaeda. you saw the news yesterday what happened in yemen. proving the mission to eliminate osama bin laden from the face of this earth, and also and importantly, this is something i'm not sure romney and ryan understand, honoring the commitment we have to our veterans when they return.

of the united states, and i don't think that they actually wanted to interview him. i don't think the republican party wanted to bring him in for a live interview. they saw his resume. it's a fantastic resume when you look at it on paper, but then you look at his record now and his positions now versus his record then, they don't trust him as dr. peterson just said. that's the problem. they don't actually think he's a conservative, and if you don't believe me, look at his record as governor. they know that. republicans aren't stupid. at least most of them aren't. i would say the same amount of dumb democrats, if you will, so they balance each other out. but my point is he's interviewing for a job and they don't like the candidate for the job and guess what? he may not actually win. >> martin, i'm glad you pointed this out. one, that sort of gives you the reason why he's creating this insane rationale about the 47%. he's trying to prove how he's going to be able to secure the office but it also underscores the fact that this is a transactional relationship. this is a quid pro quo relationship whe

wrong with that. there's a big difference between being investor in chief and president of the united states. this business of getting tough on china, we hear it all over the campaign trail, everybody does it it really comes down to what's in the details. and that i think is where mitt romney has been once again, insufficient. he says he would label china a currency manipulator but at the same time he's against legislation, bipartisan legislation, that would actually go hard against the fact china manages currency to are an advantage with its exports and put our imports at a competitive disadvantage. >> mr. romney scolded the president back in 2009 for defending american tire companies against chinese competition and i'm quoting him, production stifles productivity but he now has the president hasn't been hard enough on china. today the president responded. take a listen. >> when you hear this newfound outrage, you hear these ads promising to get tough on china, it feels a lot like that fox saying, you know we need more secure chicken coops. >> robert i don't w
